The MODE Legacy
Our storied legacy begins in 1966, Brooklyn New York, with Ike Sukljian, patriarch of the family, who's revolutionary Nail Cosmetic introduced the world to never-before-seen nail polish colors when only 9 to 12 mundane shades of red and pink existed on the market, a beauty-industry first.
Inventor of modern day nail polish color, he pioneered a sea of over 300 colors, textures and finishes — from blues, yellows, greens, purples, browns, glitters, black and everything in between — Ike's groundbreaking Nail Cosmetic sold out instantly at the finest department, variety, and drugstores. Finally, color officially graced the fingertips of a new generation of women and coveted by celebrities and tastemakers alike.
With an inherent understanding of women and appreciation of the female mystique, Ike was the visionary with the insight and foresight to define an entire cosmetics category, setting the global standard for nail polish color, a concept which caused the industry to shift and follow suit to this day. Today women have never known a world where they couldn't get a bottle of blue, green or violet nail polish from drugstores, beauty counters, prestige department stores and mass retailers around the world.
For nearly 50 years, mastering a culture of beauty is not only our philosophy but also a family tradition with wisdom passed down to the 2nd generation from father to daughters — Jennifer Isaac and Cristina Samuels. Growing up, the sisters worked in the family business throughout their school breaks, soaking up as much knowledge as they could in the art of cosmetics.
Identifying a gap in the market for a “chic, effortless beneficial beauty brand”, the forward thinking sisters knew just how to fill it: with the creation of MODE. Drawing inspiration from art and fashion, coupled with the finest skincare ingredients from around the world, the sisters fused these elements by originating the concept of high-performance naturals in color cosmetics.
With a distinguished heritage in innovation, MODE is committed to developing effective, cruelty-free color cosmetics with superior performance formulas powered with skin adoring PotentNaturals™, like they always have for over two decades.
The MODE family continues to uphold its family legacy of innovation, following the tradition of manufacturing the highest quality American made beauty products.
